Our submerged-arc strip cladding has reached a quality level, which can compete everywhere in the world. Due to the small overlapping areas and less mix-up in the first layer, the strip cladding technology has clear advantages compared to conventional wire welding. The achieved lifetimes are quite impressive. The ES electro-slag welding technology has been successfully applied for many years. The advantages are similar to the one for submerged arc welding. Additionally the penetration into the base material is lower, due to the difference in energy requirements in the mixing zone with the base material. With the coating technology we have reached a new milestone in the field of built-up welding.
