REFRACTORIES

Refractories for Iron and Steel Plant are the essential lining materials for working interfaces and backup zone of furnaces during manufacturing of iron and steel, in specific sequential and consecutive operations of forming, holding, mixing, and transporting hot metal, liquid steel and slag.

1. Magnesia Bricks:

Magnesia Bricks, a kind of basic refractory with more than 90% magnesium oxide (MgO) content, are made of periclase as the main crystal phase. Magnesia Brick is mainly used in basic oxygen furnace for steelmaking, electric furnace, rotary cement kiln, heating furnace, glass furnace and hyperthermia tunnel kiln with properties of higher refractoriness, good basic slag erosion resistance and high apparent initial softening temperature. They are made from naturally occurring Magnesite (MgCO3).

2. Magnesia Carbon brick:

MgO-C brick is a composite material based on MgO. These bricks show excellent resistance to thermal shock and corrosion at elevated temperatures. MgO-C bricks are used extensively in Steel industry.

Application Area: Basic oxygen furnace, Steel ladles, Electric arc furnace, Energy optimising furnace etc.

3. Carbon-Free bricks:

In order to solve the problems of thermal transmission of the ladle and carbon raising in molten steel, carbon-free bricks have been developed and are beneficial for improving steel quality.

Application: Carbon-Free Brick are applied to refining ladle for making mild steel, super low carbon steel and stainless steel.

4. Low carbon Magnesia Carbon (MgO-C) Bricks:

Low carbon MgO-C bricks are produced via pressing and low temperature pre-baking and mainly used in slag zone of ladle lined with low carbon or carbon-free refractories for low and ultra-low steel production. Low carbon MgO-C brick has high strength, good corrosion resistance and excellent thermal shock resistance.

5. Aluminum Magnesia Carbon Brick:

Aluminum magnesia carbon brick refers to a refractory product made of super high alumina bauxite or corundum sand, magnesia sand and flaky graphite. Aluminum magnesium carbon refractory brick is a lining fire product, refractory aluminum magnesia carbon brick is made of super high alumina bauxite or corundum sand, magnesia sand and flaky graphite.

    Application:
  1. Aluminum magnesium carbon brick is mainly used for ladle lining.
  2. Aluminum magnesium carbon brick tapping trough, large converter, and ultra-high power, electric furnace, ladle lining and refining furnace lining.
6.Tap hole refractory systems for BOF & EAF:

Taphole block is molded at isostatic pressure with fused magnesia and graphite as raw material. It is characterized by strong oxidation resistance, high strength, and high corrosion resistance. It is ideal material for taphole of large and medium furnaces.
